If someone were to ask me, what movies do not need to be remade, Robocop would surely be one of them. It’s younger than I am, and I’m not even through University.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that MGM boffins Harry Sloan and Mary Parent have confirmed both the 1984 Red Dawn and 1987’s Robocop is also currently being considered for remake.
With all the ideas floating around, screaming for a big-budget treatment, can we really get that excited about more remakes? What’s next, a new Lord of the Rings trilogy before 2020? A remake of the Shawshank Redemption? Remakes are rarely the classics the originals rise to be; why bother?
