Prometheus Sequel Confirmed

Posted on August 2, 2012 by Chris McQuillan

Despite being – by most accounts – disappointing, a sequel to this year’s sci-fi film Prometheus is underway.

The film received better critical feedback than I anticipated, although if one takes away the performance of Michael Fassbender and the excellent effects, reviewers found plenty to criticise in the plot.

But, after making over $300m at the box office, a sequel has now been confirmed.

With news that Men in Black 4 could soon be on its way, one can’t but ask the question, can’t we have more films like Cloud Atlas?  Can’t we have some original material making the next wave of sci-fi blockbusters?
