The very kind folks over at BooksShouldBeFree.com have a great science-fiction section, featuring free downloads in audio and text format of a number of science fiction books including H.G. Wells’ The War of the Worlds.
The books are largely out of copyright, although the website will alert you to any issues that may occur in your area.
