Curiosity Landing

Posted on August 3, 2012 by Andi Hamilton

There are only three days left until the rover Curiosity is due to set down on Mars, if all goes to plan and the rover survives what has been called “the 7 minutes of terror” NASA will have successfully put another rover on Mars. NASA themselves will be watching things transpire with great concern as anything could happen during the 7 minutes ‘of terror’ descent for the rover, that could be potentially catastrophic for them.

Have a look at the below video just to see how crazy the descent will be.

I love watching and reading about the exploration of space, and shall be setting my alarm for early Monday morning in order to see how Curiosity fares on its descent down to the Red Planet.
