Neil Gaiman To Write Episode For Doctor Who

Posted on February 7, 2010February 7, 2010 by Sam Kurd

STOP THE PRESSES!

Neil Gaiman has announced at the SFX-Weekender convention that he will be writing an episode for Matt Smith’s second season in Doctor Who.

This is what we geeks refer to as Fracking Great News!

Gaiman, as you very probably already know, is the bestselling author of the Sandman comic series and a whole host of novels, books for children/young adults and short stories (including Coraline and Stardust, which were adapted into successful films).  Doctor Who is currently being overseen by Stephen Moffat, writer of such excellent Who episodes as Blink and the Silence in the Library two parter. Gaiman + Moffat = recipe for truly fantastic TV.

We won’t be seeing Gaiman’s episode until 2011; I for one can’t wait.

No doubt it will be awesome! I have good feelings about the Smith/Moffat era.
