‘City of Ember’ Trailer Released

Posted on May 18, 2008 by Chris McQuillan

3cityember00Okay, the trailer’s been out for a few days now, but it’s definitely worth seeing.

For generations, the people of the City of Ember have flourished in an amazing world of glittering lights. But Ember’s once powerful generator is failing … and the great lamps that illuminate the city are starting to flicker.

There’s definite echoes to the city of Rapture from “Bioshock“, even in the style of the sets in the trailer.  This movie’s based on a 2003 novel though, so Ember probably came first.

City of Ember, which is produced by Tom Hanks and stars Saoirse Ronan, Bill Murray, Tim Robbins, Martin Landau, Toby Jones, and Harry Treadaway, hits theaters October 10, 2008.

I’m biased, I’ll admit.  My friend’s an extra in the movie, so it definitely peaks my interest.  If curiosity tickles you, check out the trailer at the official website.

Is it me or seems like there is so many movies that flop these days. Unless you like transformers…. I loved it!
