“Veronica Mars” gets the axe

Posted on May 17, 2007May 17, 2007 by Chris McQuillan

It’s the season where fans of television shows worldwide hang their heads and cry in despair. Critically acclaimed teen drama “Veronica Mars” has been axed by The CW.

Long running shows “7th Heaven” and “The Gilmore Girls” had already been cancelled, but it was only today that the network announced that the show, starring Kristen Bell as a teenage private eye, would not be returning in the Fall.

As usual, ratings were to blame. Yet few other shows on The CW Network can boast the same degree of critical acclaim that “Veronica Mars” enjoyed.

Alas; ’tis the season to be trigger-happy.
