If you were thinking there wasn’t enough animated sci-fi around, well maybe this is right up your street.
DragonCon this year will feature the North American debut of Strange Frame, starring (in voice) names such as Claudia Black, Ron Glass, Alan Tudyk, Michael Dorn and (our favourite) George Takei.
“In the current climate of parody, pastiche, re-hashing, re-booting and recycling of films, it is so refreshing to see a film as unique, original and enjoyable as Strange Frame: Love and Sax… Strange Frame is a rare film: inspiration by other forms is noticeable, but it is not merely repetition or homage. It is a dreamscape, one that does not shy aware from the ugly, yet celebrates the beautiful.” –  Shelagh M. Rowan-Legg, Twitch Film
The effects look pretty good, and there’s plenty of vocal talent around.
The movie is scheduled to screen at the Hyatt International South at 4pm on Saturday September 1st, so if you’re heading along, check it out.
*sigh* I think Naia’s hand running over Parker’s stomach at :59 is still one of my favorite little bits that I animated ^_^
(Pardon me, just stalking around the internet looking for random mentions of SF and I had to gloat a little. Thanks for posting about it! We are finally getting to see it completely finished at our local theater tonight. Very exciting.)
