Stargate SG-1 finished its summer run of new episodes with improved ratings on Friday, September 22. The cliffhanger episode “The Quest, Part 1” earned a 1.7 average household rating, up two-tenths of a point from the previous week’s episode. This is an improvement of three-tenths of a point (21 percent) from the season premiere.
The first half of Season Ten peaked with a 1.9 rating for the heavily promoted “200,” and saw its low point with “Insiders” (1.3). The season is averaging a 1.54 household rating to date.
The September 22 episode also scored a rare victory over its sister show, Stargate Atlantis, which earned a 1.6 rating at 10 p.m. Season Three’s mid-season finale, “The Return, Part 1,” stayed even with the previous week’s episode.
Atlantis’s ratings, though down from last season, have been remarkably steady this summer. The first half of the show’s third season averaged a rating of 1.58. “Sateda” earned the distinction of the lowest-rated to date with a 1.4, “The Real World” followed SG-1’s “200” with a 1.8, season high rating.
The late-night reruns for SG-1 and Atlantis earned ratings of 1.0 and 0.8, respectively — both up one-tenth of a point from the previous week.
The adventure isn’t over yet! The second half of the current season will premiere in March on SCI FI Channel in the United States, with 10 more brand new episodes for each show.
