Stargate SG-1
10×01 – NO MAN’S LAND
Rating: *** 1/2
“As the Ori invade the Jaffa planet Chulak, Vala and Daniel must deal with their leader: Vala’s young daughter, rapidly aged by the Ori to serve their purposes.”
A fast paced, exciting episode with a strong introduction to Vala and some very excellent special effects.
10×02 -MORPHEUS
Rating: **
“SG-1 investigates a problem off-world and soon finds that they have become victims themselves: they cannot stay awake. Meanwhile, Vala Mal Doran undergoes an evaluation on Earth, hoping to join SG-1.”
Woah, woah, woah, downhill. After a strong season start, this slow-paced snooze-fest has little impact on the series story and the semi-okay Vala B-Story is not given the time or care it needs. What gives it two stars? Teal’c actually has purpose this week in bringing the creature out of the cave, and Vala gives a good performance for the most part.
10×03 -THE PEGASUS PROJECT
Rating: *****
“SG-1 visits Atlantis in the hopes of preventing the Ori from sending more ships through the Supergate, and to find a new lead on Merlin’s anti-Ori weapon.”
That’s what I’m talking about. The finest episode in months, possibly years. The first real SG crossover, with Mitchell and Sheppard standing side by side in the Atlantis gateroom. Excellent stuff. A powerful plot, great effects and good use of all the characters (especially McKay). Great to see Weir, Zelenka and the Atlantis Chevron-Dude too.
*** Atlantis episodes to be added shortly. ***
