Abrams casts doubt upon Kirk/Spock storyline

Posted on April 26, 2006 by Chris McQuillan

EMPIRE decided to run an article with the headline, “It Won’t Be Kirk And Spock”. The epitome of sensationalistic journalism, to be honest. Abrams gave EMPIRE an interview, telling of how “People learned that I was producing a Star Trek film, that I had an option to direct it, they hear rumours of what the thing was going to be and ran with a story that is not entirely accurate.”

Not entirely accurate?

“We’ve made a pact not to discuss any specifics”

Okay, fine.

“Those characters are so spectacular. I just think that”¦ you know, they could live again.”

Hang on, sounds like he’s just gone back to hinting it will be about Kirk and Spock in some way?

Perhaps it just isn’t the Academy.

The mystery deepens…
