As was pointed out to us by Mr. Jeremy Cherfas, we incorrectly cited a source in our recent article entitled Who needs the Avian Flu vaccine anyway?.
We accredited the letter to a Mr. George R Zug, when in fact the article appears to have been written by a Mr. Steve Anderson. We must apologise for sub-par research when writing this article. The source we took the information from did credit Mr. George R Zug, and there do infact appear to be two copies of the letter now making their way around the internet. But as Mr. Cherfas pointed out, this one should be taken as a definitive.
Apologies to all readers.
[Edit: Plagiarism confusion updated. ]
Thanks for the clarification.
By the way, I accused noone, and have explained further on my blog.
As I’m sure you’ll understand, I took your blog entry as us being the source of these untrue propagations. This was offensive to myself, because I pride myself on this site. I do my utmost to produce high-quality news, and the idea that we were deliberately reporting false news just knawed at me a little.
If, as you say, there were no accusations, then everything’s fine and dandy. :D
As for the plagiarism confusion – well, to be honest, I find your style of writing difficult to read. I was pretty confused too, and found the remark to be rather odd. But there you go.
Thanks for the correction.
