Star: Trek Enterprise co-creator, Brannon Braga says he’s done with the franchise, at least for the forseeable future. Now executive producer of CBS’s new sci-fi drama, “Threshold”, Braga gave an interview to Sci-Fi Wire in which he noted, “At the moment [I’m done with it], yeah … There will be a lot of fans cheering about that.” It’s well known that Enterprise fans had a less than favourable opinion of Brannon Braga and Rick Berman.
I’ll be the first to admit they wrote some truly awful episodes, however, the ferocity of the criticism is, in my opinion, ridiculous. As for Braga staying away from Trek, I say it’s a good thing. He’s tired out with Star Trek, and should enjoy writing for a new drama, and hopefully it’ll refresh him. Braga is, in my opinion, a fantastic writer who lost his way. Hopefully, in the future, he’ll regain the talent and flair he once had, and return to write fantastic episodes again.
